Everyone's an angel

If you had invested $10,000 in Amazon.com's startup you would have walked away with 2.6 million dollars only a handful of years later. Do I have your attention? Good.

Now success of that level is rare, we aren't going to promise it or anywhere close. In fact, here at Idea Slide we're going to be completely open and honest. Crowd funding investments is new, exciting, and high risk! So how much do you stand to make and what are those risks?

The Rewards

Let's start with the good news! According to the Center for Venture Research in 2010 the average annual return on an exit was between 24% and 36%. Another study, perhaps more commonly used, is 27% (sites.kauffman.org/pdf/angel_groups_111207.pdf). Not only can you get great returns, but you will also be helping your neighbor! In 2010 over 300,000 jobs were created from investing in startups!

Compare that to the following other investment averages:

S&P 500 6.58% (2010's 15 year annualized return)
Russell 3000 5.39% (Sept, 2011 15 year annualized return)
10 Year CD: 3.0% (As of Dec 2011)

The Risks

Investing in startups isn't for everyone, but now everyone can have that opportunity. There are two major risk factors to consider before investing in startups. They are

1) The investment fails to produce any positive gain. As we noted above, on average if you invest right you should be seeing gains in excess of 20%, the key is diversification, and we'll talk more about that next. 2) The cash you invest is not liquid. This means there's no way to get the money back should you need the cash. This is the main reason why startup investing isn't for you. Here at IdeaSlide we say don't invest what you can't afford! The average time until you are paid for your investment is 3.5 years but could be as long as 6 or more. Investing in a start up is a long term investment!

The IdeaSlide Advantage

Before 2012 you there were strict rules about who could invest and how much they had to invest at minimum. Though it varies state to state you'd certainly need to be in the top 10% wealth level to invest AND needed a minimum investment of about $25,000.The problem becomes even if you had $100,000 in cash to invest you'd only get to pick 4 companies. Due to the high risk this means you'd have a big chance to lose it all!

Enter Idea Slide! Thanks to recent legislation you can now invest in an increment as little as $50. Our unique system brings you quality deals referred from established investing groups from all over the nation. With as little as $1,000 you could have the safety, diversity, and gains of the "1%."
